Privates on Parade on DVD
This tongue-in-cheek look at the British military, is set in Singapore in 1948. The outfit, under command of "stiff-upper-lip" Major Giles Flack, (John Cleese) is a performance unit called SADUESA: Song and Dance Unit, South-East Asia. The company is also under the command of an aging theatrical queen, Terri Dennis. Together, the unlikely duo of Flack and Dennis have to prepare the troupe for the tour of the war zone. They are accompanied by a slimy Sargent-Major, who's involved in selling arms to rebels; a young officer, recently transfered from the Intelligence Corps and a variety of other colorful personages. But will the frontline troops enjoy Terri's impersonations of Carmen Miranda and the Andrews Sisters? And will the flamboyant troupers make it out of there alive?
